Midterm Practice

Question 1

Essay
In order to practice for the Mid-Year Assessment, you should study ACTIVELY by practicing writing that addresses the essential questions and incorporates examples from activities we have completed in class. Below are some sample prompts that might help you to think of how to get started. Keep in mind your response should:

•	BE ORGANIZED: Decide how many paragraphs you will write and what you will include in each paragraph. Think about how you will transition between paragraphs and what transition words and expressions you can include.
•	CONTAIN COMPLEX SENTENCES: Consider how you will include sentences with dependent clauses in your writing.
•	CONTAIN A VARIETY OF STRUCTURES: Think about how you can show off what you know in Spanish. Consider using past (preterite, imperfect, present perfect) tenses (good for giving examples), subjunctive mood (to say how you feel/felt about something, to give advice, to show doubt, etc.), future and conditional tenses.
•	INCORPORATE EXAMPLES FROM CLASS ACTIVITIES: Go through your notes and review class activities to look for concrete examples. You do not need to mention the materials directly, but your writing should demonstrate an understanding of course content.
