A riot is defined as, “a violent disturbance of the peace by a crowd.” A massacre is defined as, “the act of or instance of killing a number of usually helpless or unresisting human beings under circumstances of atrocity or cruelty.”

Different accounts call the events in Tulsa a "massacre," or a "riot." Based on what you have learned, explain if this incident was a massacre or a riot, and give specific examples of why.
